AKTIVITAS ANTIBAKTERIAL EKSTRAK DAUN TANAMAN NAMPONG (Siegesbeckia orientalis L) TERHADAP BAKTERI Staphylococcus aureus Dan Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Nampong (Siegesbeckia orientalis) is a plant that is commonly found in Indonesia, mainly in the rural area and in the secondary forest. Rural community makes use of the tip of this plant leaf as medicine. Activity research of antimicrobial towards some pathogen microbe is carried out to attest the potentiality of Nampong as medicine plant. This research is intended to find out the activity of the antibacterial extract of nampong (Siegesbeckia orientalis L) towards Staphyllococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. There are two phases of this research. The first phase is to extract nampong leaf by using methanol solvent. The second is to do the activity examination of the antibacterial extract of nampong towards Staphyllococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The result of this research demonstrates that the extract of nampong leaf is able to obstruct the growth of both appraised bacteria. The obstructed process is more effective to S. aureus than P.aeruginosa with the concentrate 3.13 % as the biggest obstructive.
